The socio-economic transformation of the African Family has been hindered by challenges in the delivery of basic healthcare services. Obstacles faced by both the demand and supply sides of the health sector have been identified as a root cause to the inefficient delivery of primary healthcare thereby eroding the resilience and development potential of the African family unit.
The Family Group Foundation is engaged in a public-private partnership initiative aimed at providing training fees for needy students in medical training. This fund is known as the Afya Elimu Fund.
The foundation contributes to this fund which is a revolving one that provides low interest loans of (4%) to students to meet their tuition fees obligations.
