General Information
The Foundation is the social investment arm of Family Bank Limited. Established in 2012, we focus on catalyzing transformative change in Education, Climate Action, Youth Development and Enterprise to uplift African families.
We are funded by our founding corporate partner Family Bank to carry out their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. We also collaborate with development financial institutions and other partners for specific projects.
Our mentorship program provides guidance through workshops and one-on-one sessions. We help youth navigate their academic and career paths. This support fosters personal growth and confidence.
Trainings are conducted in various locations across Kenya. We aim to reach youth in all 32 counties. Check our website for specific training schedules and venues.
Donations can be made through our website. We appreciate contributions of any size to support our initiatives. Your generosity helps us transform lives across communities.
Scholarship & Education
The scholarship targets bright but needy students who have excelled in their Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) exams but lack the financial means to join secondary school. Selection is based on vulnerability and academic performance.
The scholarship covers tuition fees for high school. Beyond financial support, beneficiaries receive mentorship, psychosocial support, and attend academic boot camps to prepare for national exams.
Yes. We offer post-high school pathways including internships, job placements and we also provide technical skills training for those interested in vocational trades.
Youth Empowerment (TUFUZU)
TUFUZU is a technical skills training program that equips youth with practical skills in construction trades such as plumbing, electrical installation, and painting. It uses a “TVET on Wheels” model to train students directly at construction sites.
Yes. All successful graduates receive accreditation from the National Construction Authority (NCA) and are awarded a toolkit to help them start their own businesses or secure employment.
The program is open to youth aged 18-25. Applicants undergo a selection process to be able to get the scholarship.
Environment & Climate Action
Our flagship restoration project is at the Ngong Hills Forest (Corner Baridi), where we have adopted 10 acres of land. We also support tree growing initiatives in partnership with schools and other organizations.
