For Ivy Waidera, a Form 2 student at Tumutumu Girls High School , dreams of becoming a physician once felt out of reach. Her parents struggled to pay school fees, and the path ahead seemed uncertain.

Then, she received a scholarship, and everything changed. “I felt really happy,” Ivy says. “Not many people get this opportunity, and for me, it meant I could take a step closer to my dream of helping others.”

The mentorship workshop that followed was just as transformative. Ivy learned to embrace her true self, rather than be defined by what others think. She discovered the power of hard work, confidence, and making choices that align with her values.

Returning to school, Ivy carries a simple but powerful message for her peers: “Life is short. Don’t worry about how others see you. Be confident, make wise choices, and focus on your own path.”
